Brazilian Expansion Continues - Acreage increase of 38% in Tocantins

Safras Mercado, a Brazilian consulting firm, has issued a production update as of 2-25-04, lowering national production estimates to 56.568 MMT, significantly below the USDA’s current estimate of 61 MMT, but still managing a 10% increase over the previous crop of 51.417 MMT.

The shortfall has been attributed to a drop in yields, as the national average yield fell from 40.3 in 02/03 to 39.7 in the current production year, a drop of 3.4%. This decrease has been attributed to shortfalls in precipitation in the southern growing regions, and a excess moisture in the Center-West region of the country. A strong expansion in acreage continued in the current year, with an additional 6.2 million new soybean acres planted in the 03-04 production year, a 14% increase in acreage. The chart below highlights the acreage expansion in a selection of states.

New MS Outlook A User report from a recent upgrader to MS Office 03.
I read reviews on MS Outlook which convinced me to upgrade..so far, I have not been disappointed.
A system tray new message notification is great for people like me that run Outlook all day long. No need to switch to the program to read mail..you can delete the chaff with one click on the transparent pop-up message notification.
The new split pane is also a big improvement..easier to read mail and see more of your inbox messages at the same time.
The new mail sorting scheme is nice as well..sorting by day recieved, or person recieved from etc. There is even a view for flagged messages..which makes using that followup flag make a lot more sense.
It seems like it does add some drag on my system..but realistically think it is about time to upgrade the old processor anyway.
I like it..might want to take a look.
